it's like i was the miracle worker or something

i was having a conversation with a group of friends and acquaintances last night, when i referenced "st. olaf", the town rose was from on the golden girls. one person had no idea what i was talking about - she has no television and never watches the stuff. it was like talking to someone from another land: "so there were four ladies, living in a house in miami - with one bathroom! - one was a slut, one was really old, one was dumb, and one was bea arthur..."

i don't understand those without televisions. are there two kinds of people in the world, those with tvs and those without? can the twain ever meet? can't we all just get along, those who can sing along with commercial jingles from the mid 80s and those who can't? those who know where george clooney got his start and those who don't? those who know the difference between belvedere and benson, and those who don't?

Miami, miami, you've got style! Blue skies, sunshine, white sand by the mile! It's good to learn TV songs when you're a kid and your brain is fully functional and spongy.
